Ruby was adopted in June 2017.
Ruby is an adult female Shepherd mix who came to NorthStar after being found running amok in a metropolitan area. She came to us very underweight. Today she’s eating well, has gained a few needed pounds and is looking to find her forever home!
Perhaps, because Ruby knows what it’s like to be hungry, she is a food seeker, and will happily check the kitchen counter for left-out goodies. We continue to work on this by ensuring that Ruby knows she’ll always have food from now on.
She loves nothing more than being with her people, and strives to make you happy. She gets along well with other calm dogs, and seems to be ok with young children, however she hasn’t been fully tested with them. Outside she stays close when off leash, and isn’t really sure about playing with other dogs yet.
She may possibly have a fear of large staircases, as when her foster daddy goes to bed upstairs she whines at the bottom of the stairs for a few minutes before going to lay down in another part of the house, but when her foster dad goes into the basement, she follows right behind him.
