Meet Shadow, a male 6 year old GSD-mix. This happy guy loves people including kids of all sizes. He gets along with other dogs and kitties but truth be told, he prefers to be your only. He amuses himself by tossing his own ball and chasing it which is quite the sight to see.
Weighing in at about 60lbs, Shadow is a good sized and medium energy dog. Shadow loves to go for walks or runs and he can do a four mile run without blinking an eye. His foster mom says that he’ll also be just as content to lay down in whatever room she’s working in and be happy as a clam. On the rainy days she’s just taken him out for a quick potty and he’s been fine to crate up when she leaves for the day.
He’s a cuddly dog. If you let him, he’ll lay down right on top of you. He’s not called Shadow because he’s black. He likes to be right beside you wherever you go. He is polishing his house training at his foster home and all reports are very good. He is also crate trained and likes to be crated when his foster family is away.
Shadow was a stray in his former life, so he’s polishing up his house training skills and what works is crating when his family is not home. Like many GSDs, he has a healthy prey drive and loves nothing more than to chase chickens and bark at horses on the farm. So a visible fenced yard is recommended.
Shadow is neutered, HW-negative and up to date on his vaccinations. He is fostering in the La Crosse, WI area.
